Coin Show - Proof
Sets - Happy Holidays
Recently, the US Mint sent email messages announcing their gift sleeves for proof sets. These sleeves provide an interesting package for gifts, but there
is one drawback: they only fit the newer proof sets' size and packaging.
What if you want to give an older proof set that is shaped differently from the newer versions?
For example, the proof sets from the late 50s and early 60s were packaged in
envelopes. Other older proof sets were blue, black (and another size in black), green and purple. They were similar in size to each
other but very different from the newer sets such as 2002 and 2009.
Just for fun, here are two versions of gift wrap you can print and use to wrap your gifts of proof sets.
The first one, similar to the US Mint's gift sleeve, includes a hint of what's inside the package with
coins in the design. Click on the picture for a PDF file you can print to standard 8 1/2 by 11 paper.

The second gift wrap is similar in design but uses holly instead of coins to not give any hints about the gift.

Easy instructions: Print one of these, whichever you prefer, for each proof set you want to give as a gift.
Place the paper with the print side down and position the proof set in the middle over the back of the design. Pull
the long sides to the back, overlap and tape. Fold each end, pull to the back and tape. Add a gold ribbon and you
have a nicely wrapped proof set gift.
