Make a reminder note and visit the next Greater Atlanta Coin Show on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at the IAM Union Hall to join the fun and view the items on the bourse.
Rain, sometimes of the cats and dogs variety, occurred outside while the October 2026 Greater Atlanta Coin Show entertained visitors on a bourse filled with dealers and their displays of coins, currency, bullion and other collectibles.
Visitors to the show wander the bourse, look at the various treasures and perhaps buy, sell or trade with the dealers. Of course, visitors enjoy just looking at the many items on display too.
The calendar moved into fall since the last show. In addition to the rain, Mother Nature offered cooler temperatures in the low 70s, so not cold yet.
We appreciate all of our visitors, our dealers, our security and the Union Hall's staff for supporting and contributing to the show each month. A BIG THANK YOU goes to all of you.
This month, a few of our regular dealers participated in the North Carolina Numismatic Association's coin show in Concord NC. We welcome and appreciate the visiting dealers to our show substituting in their place.
Around the Union Hall, a few of the trees were shedding their nuts. Several people came, even in the rain, to gather their bounty.
Once again, the show enjoyed several young people visiting, asking questions and buying some of their first coins for their collections.
One Mom proudly took pictures of her young children with the coins they just purchased. Hopefully, those pictures will be added to their private albums.
Unfortunately, the show does not allow pictures taken of the bourse, dealers or guests. This is such that those images do not get placed on the internet where people can be identified and targeted by nefarious thieves. (You'll note that any bourse images we show on the web site have people blurred and unidentifiable.)
Guests at the show were buying and selling gold and silver. Some people brought gold and silver items for appraisal while others wanted them appraised for immediate sale.
Visitors are welcome to bring numismatic items, not just gold and silver, for a free verbal appraisal by the dealers. After the appraisal, you can keep your treasures or offer them to dealers to buy.
Of course, the dealers provide gold, silver and numismatic items for sale within their display cases. People were buying gold and silver bullion as well.
Dealers had some of the famous St. Gaudens gold coins in their cases for sale.
In addition, there gold coins minted in Dahlonega from the 1850s on display and for sale.
On a different numismatic note, people also searched for currency. Some particularly wanted Georgia Nationals notes. These are old notes from Georgia banks rather than the Federal Reserve that we see today.
Even with the rain, the show was a busy place to be. Of course, the rain makes the show end earlier than normal for many of the dealers. It's a good reminder to visit the show earlier in the day for the most opportunities.
Remember to visit our next show to enjoy the fun and camaraderie on the bourse.
