Coins - 1989 Mint Set - larger images

The insert in the 1989 mint set was a departure from the inserts in the earlier mint sets. For starters, the front of the insert showed the coins' obverse images on a marbled background. A magnifying glass beside the coins makes it appear as if someone had been studying the details of the coins.

Inside, the US Mint's message in the 1989 mint set is also different in that it included pictures in addition to their historical comments.

In addition, the insert provides information "Of Historic Interest" about how each of the coins.

The coin specifications were included on the back of the folded insert and provided the details about each of the five uncirculated coins.
